| Warady
& Davis LLP Named One of "Top 50 Employers for Generation Y Chicago"
(October 28, 2009)
We
are pleased to announce that BrillStreet, in conjunction with GFK Custom Research
North America, selected Warady & Davis LLP, Certified Public Accountants &
Consultants, as one of the 50 Top Employers for Generation Y in Chicago based
on its innovative internships, "W&D University" training program,
flexible scheduling, great team atmosphere built on friendships and many perks.
College
students are facing a very tight hiring market. W&D has crafted an internship
program that not only builds real world knowledge, but also can lead to permanent
employment, scholarship opportunities and more, notes BrillStreet. "We can't
say to students enough how important a professional internship is for their growth
and career. Regardless of whether they intern with W&D or another employer,
go for it!" says Leslie Flinn, Director of Marketing & Recruiting.
"Each
year, we welcome students carefully selected from a pool of 500+ candidates for
W&D's intensive tax season internship program, Flinn elaborates. When faced
with so many qualified candidates, students with work experience really stand
out."
"We invest heavily in our Generation Y staff members as
they represent the future of our firm. Our professional development curriculum,
W&D University, begins at the intern level and goes all the way through Partner,"
Flinn adds.
"Our interns say that one of the best things about their
W&D experience is the people. We have a large and growing young professional
staff giving W&D a collegial atmosphere which really appeals to Generation
Y. We also offer a balance of hard work and fun including year-round parties,
events and activities that celebrate a sense of family and team spirit,"
Flinn comments.
"Pursuing excellence in our culture is a top priority
for W&D. Genuine care and concern for our people and our clients sets W&D
apart," Flinn concludes. Calling it a great work environment for "go-getters,"
BrillStreet cited W&D's internship and training programs, flexibility and
culture as significant reasons for the company making the list.
This is
the first year of BrillStreet's quantitative and qualitative study exploring areas
such as compensation and benefits, perks, corporate social responsibility, advancement
potential, training opportunities, and the nature of daily tasks. Firms with at
least 10% of their workforce composed of Generation Y, defined for the purposes
of the study as employees aged 28 years or younger, were eligible for consideration.
BrillStreet evaluated 50 finalists on a point-based scale developed by GFK Custom
North America, a leading global marketing research agency, to determine the winner.
Finalists scoring highly in key areas were selected for on-site interviews to
discover firsthand what makes their workplaces exceptional.
